Welcome to the web site of the Australasian System Dynamics Chapter

The Australasian System Dynamics Chapter is a chapter of the international System Dynamics Society. The System Dynamics Society is a nonprofit organization devoted to encouraging the development and use of systems thinking and system dynamics around the world. With members in fifty-five countries, the Society provides a forum in which researchers, educators, consultants, and practitioners in the corporate and public sectors interact to introduce newcomers to the field, keep abreast of current developments, and build on each other's work.

This interactive web site provides information about chapter activities, expertise of chapter members, seminars, conference announcements, links to systems thinking and system dynamics resources all over the world, and there is also a discussion forum.  This site is a focal point for accumulating a wide range of content, so please register on the site and contribute.

What is System Dynamics?

"System dynamics deals with how things change through time, which includes most of what most people find important. It uses computer simulation to take the knowledge we already have about details in the world around us and to show why our social and physical systems behave the way they do. System dynamics demonstrates how most of our own decision-making policies are the cause of the problems that we usually blame on others, and how to identify policies we can follow to improve our situation."
